Password Protection Expiration

Description

When you password-protect a post in WordPress, a cookie is set to expire in 10
days which prevents the user from having to enter the password during that
10-day period. This plugin allows you to easily change the lifetime of that
cookie.

Installation

Unzip into wp-content/plugins, then activate via the admin panel. Settings are
in Settings -> Password-Protection Expiration.

I was struggling to find a way to set an expiry limit to logged-in access to a forum section of my website. As a beginner I was very wary of changing important files. It seemed worth risking your plug-in even without evidence that it was compatible with 4.5.3. Although I haven’t made my site live yet, your plug in works on testing – I set it to 5 minutes and tried it three times, and it worked as expected – required password re-entry after the set time. Thank you!
